UR Law Society

We are a small Law School at The University of Roehampton which is a huge advantage to all the students who attend. We have excellent lecturers that offer one to one tuition frequently and show they really care. Our lecturers provide amazing connections to lawyers all around the country who offer special events for Law Society Members. A small Law School does lead to a small Law Society, however it is open to all Roehampton Students, especially those with an interest in law, who wish to become a member and attend any events. Our small society again is an advantage because all of our members have the potential to make close friendships throughout the university years.

Roehampton Law School has its own dedicated career's advisor to specially help law students with applications for Work Experience, Vac Schemes, Pupilage's and Training Contracts. When it comes to the society, there will be individually planned sessions to provide help and information in informal group sessions for further education, application forms and interview techniques. The society will also provide guest speakers to present to students and network with them.

 In South West London, we are a train ride away from Central London, the location of The Supreme Court, The Old Bailey and The Royal Courts of Justice where we will have society trips and tours. Central London is also the home thousands of top law firms where events can be held and connections can be made. Roehampton also offers the Pathways To Law scheme for Year 10 to 13 students who gain work experience in Magic Circle Firms. This scheme offers law students, paid student ambassador roles as well as a special connection between The University and these hard to reach law firms.

One of our goals for the society is to start up Mooting and by the end of the year to have an internal mooting competition at the university for all future barristers out there!

 

Of course it is not all work and no play in the Roehampton Law Society. We will have social events either on or off campus at least once a month to ensure you have the best time at university and to have the chance to explore London in a group of friendly students with similar interests. Our social events are also designed to meet as many people as you can! Everyone is a networking connection.
