Our First Mooting Competition will no longer be judged by Professor David Ormerod QC due to some unforeseen circumstances however, Michael Oliver has kindly stepped in to take over from David.

John Samuels is kindly returning to Roehampton to give our students first hand experience and advice on Mooting.

He will be delivering a personalised session for Roehampton Students and how to do well at Mooting.

Samantha Kane
Barrister Samantha Kane will be joining us to tell us all about her life as a barrister and her career at the bar as well as a romance author.

Samantha's work as a Barrister is vast but includes extensive expertise in international property, real estate matters, construction disputes and capability in international sports contracts.

Assessment Centre Experience with BPP
A mock assessment centre day will be hosted by BPP for exclusive law societies and Roehampton is one of them! The day will include the following:
- Team working and Commercial Awareness
- Drafting and Speed Interviewing
as well as
- Two Speed Moots and
- Top tips for pupilage.
And a professional panel event and networking opportunities.

Mooting Introduction
Tuesday 26th February
A final opportunity to have an introduction into mooting. The event will be hosted by your committee members where we will discuss the basics and then move onto creating mooting teams. After we have enough teams, we will create a Roehampton Mooting Competition and then prepare to enter into future competitions with neighbouring universities.

In collaboration with the University fo Roehampton Business Society, we have arranged a networking event.
This event will give all attendees excellent practice with networking skills as well as the opportunity to meet your peers and the professionals in attendance.

Mooting: The Next Steps
Wednesday 20th March
The first half an hour of this weeks session will be another introduction for those who could not attend last week due to lectures.

The second half will be ensuring everyone is in a partner to compete with. We will then be giving everyone the case that will be used in the Final Mooting taking place on Tuesday 26th March.

Mercedes Brown will be giving a presentation on how to use West Law and will be certifying people. There will be two sessions. A Basic Session on how to use West Law confidently and there will be an Advanced Session. The Advanced will be all about digging deeper into cases, legislation, insights, EU and Journals and how to extract all the information you need to get a First! And to use practically in the future as lawyers.
